We all have an opportunity to do good things on a daily basis for others less fortunate than ourselves. We are so grateful for the thousands of local volunteers and community partners that chose to work with Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun to improve our community…. one house and nonprofit facility at a time. In a time when thousands of low-income homeowners can no longer afford the necessary repairs on their homes, and when funding to meet the needs of this population is shrinking, Rebuilding Together has been able to increase the services provided to our community because of your strong and growing support. During this fiscal year we have been able to engage over 5,000 volunteers to supply much need repairs and improvements to over 440 homes and nonprofit facilities.
As we enter our 20th year, Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun will build on our past success by being the leading provider of renovations for those in need to measurably improve our neighborhoods and our less fortunate neighbors across the Valley. Locally, the impact of our three programs (Rebuilding Day, Rock&Roll Paint-a-Thon and Senior Fall Prevention Services) along with our many special team-building projects throughout the year, not only felt by the clients we are honored to serve, but also by the many partners who make all this work happen. If you have participated in our programs, you know the personal satisfaction felt when a client calls with this type of gratitude:
“The volunteer just left and I would like your address to send you a thank you note for the grab bars– I’m 91 years old and have had a hard time accepting that it’s harder for me to get around. But this was wonderful, just like a birthday gift! And they said to call to see if I can get my house painted as well. Thank you so much.”
We are grateful that your involvement with Rebuilding Together – through your time, funding and skills– has made a direct and important difference in our community. While this past year has been challenging for so many, there always seems to be a sense of hope and change from our supporters. It is this belief that things can get better that has inspired our volunteers and partners alike to get involved and make a tangible difference. Thank you and we hope you will continue to join us ….
