Rebuilding Day
Our signature community service project, Rebuilding Day, occurs every spring.
For 2012, we are no longer accepting applications from homeowners and teams.
Each year, this event is the culmination of months of planning, evaluating, training, organizing, and mobilizing hundreds community volunteers. This year, on March 31, 2012 AND April 14, 2012, volunteers from local businesses, civic and religious organizations join together to repair and revitalize houses, and non-profit facilities, within the Phoenix area. Skilled and unskilled volunteers perform tasks such as energy and safety improvements, yard cleanup, painting and carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs.
In collaboration with neighborhood service department and neighborhood associations, RTVOS identifies city redevelopment and initiative areas to focus our revitalization and rehab efforts. All of the households receiving rehab services are low-income elderly, disabled, or a veteran; this service cost the homeowner nothing.
This is a great team building project for your company’s next community involvement project. We are able to turn every dollar invested into the program into four dollars worth of services provided to the homeowner. We couldn’t do this without the generous support of our volunteers and financial supporters.
